Located very close, within walking distance, to centre of modern Fethiye, Telmessos was one of the most important cities of ancient Lycia. The city is especially renowned for its impressive rock-cut tombs.

Thanks to its central location, Telmessos can easily be visited on foot while exploring the town.

Approximately 10 km from Fethiye, Kayaköy is a hauntingly beautiful abandoned village and an open-air museum. Known as Karmylassos in antiquity, the settlement was continuously inhabited until the early 20th century.
