Provisioning on Board

When chartering a yacht, proper provisioning plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and enjoyable blue cruise experience.

Every yacht in our portfolio includes a skilled chef as part of the crew, ensuring all your meals are expertly prepared and served. On a typical boat charter, you’ll enjoy a delicious daily menu featuring breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner.

As outlined below, at Buenoways we follow two different approaches to meet our guests’ needs.

Personalized Approach

This personalized approach ensures guests enjoy meals suited to their preferences while only paying for what they consume, reducing waste and unnecessary costs.

Due to high inflation and fluctuating exchange rates in Turkey, we have not set fixed menu prices since 2022.

We work closely with our guests to create a custom menu tailored to their tastes and dietary preferences. Once your menu is finalized, the chef will prepare a shopping list accordingly.

We take care of the shopping and deliver the provisions to your boat. Most items are sourced from Migros, Turkey’s largest supermarket chain, while fresh and perishable goods such as seafood and fruits are purchased from local suppliers to ensure the best quality.

This service is completely free, with no commission. Guests pay suppliers directly, and all major credit cards are accepted. Market bills must be settled as presented.

On average, depending on your menu choices, the cost is typically between €40-60 per person per day (pppd), including soft drinks but excluding alcohol. For reference; fixed full-board prices in the yacht charter market, generally range from €60-80 pppd.

APA System

APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid expense account used in some superior luxury yacht charters to cover the costs of food, beverages, fuel, port fees, and other operational expenses during the trip. It allows for a seamless experience, ensuring that all provisions and services are arranged in advance according to the guests’ preferences.

Typically, the APA is a percentage of the charter fee (usually 20-40%) and is paid before the charter begins. The captain manages this fund, using it to pay for expenses on behalf of the guests.

A detailed breakdown of spending is provided, and the account records are fully transparent and accessible to guests at any time. Any unused amount is refunded at the end of the trip. If expenses exceed the initial APA, guests may need to top up the account during the charter.

However, not all yachts operate with an APA system. On mid-range and smaller yacht charters we prefer the personalized approach. The APA system is more common on high-end luxury yachts that require more flexibility in provisioning and operational expenses.
