Sicily Yacht Charter Itinerary

North of Sicily, the Aeolian Islands, a chain of seven volcanic islands, form one of the most remarkable blue cruise routes in the Mediterranean.

This week-long yacht charter itinerary covers roughly 130 nautical miles and is filled with lava-formed landscapes, thermal bays, and the unforgettable sight of active volcanoes glowing above the sea.

As you explore islands such as Lipari, Salina, Panarea, Vulcano and Stromboli; you’ll experience the essence of Sicilian culture and the spirit of Italy along the way.

In these peaceful harbors, reminiscent of Aegean seaside towns, guests are greeted by the crew and welcomed on board with arrival cocktails.

In the evening, the first delicious moments of the week begin with a dinner inspired by local Sicilian cuisine, freshly prepared on board.

Around 09:30, captain lifts anchor and sets course for Filicudi Island.

Along the way, you stop for a lunch break at La Canna, the iconic rock formation that symbolizes the Aeolian Islands.

If you wish, you can take a trip to Grotta del Boe Marino (the Sea Bull Cave) on the dinghy boat. In the evening, you will anchor off Filicudi and enjoy a peaceful night under a star-filled sky.

Around 10:00, you set sail for Salina. The first stop is Cala di Pollara, known for its warm-colored cliffs and crystal-clear water.

In the afternoon, you continue to the village of Santa Marina di Salina. Here you can explore small gelato shops, boutique wine houses, and local salt-production sites.

Overnight anchorage can be either in a nearby bay or in the marina.

In the morning, you depart Salina and set course for Panarea. Known as the “Capri of Sicily” Panarea is famous for its chic, bohemian atmosphere.

The first stop is Cala Junco, a turquoise bay with prehistoric settlement remains and one of the most photographed spots on the island.

During the lunch stop, you can enjoy swimming among the natural sulfur bubbles around Lisca Bianca.

Afterwards, make a short visit to the small islet of Basiluzzo.

In the evening, you may go ashore in Panarea and dine at one of the island’s stylish restaurants.

In the morning, you depart Panarea and head toward Stromboli. The island’s active volcano offers a spectacular display, with its lava flows known as the “Sciara del Fuoco.”

Afterward, enjoy a short swimming stop at Strombolicchio Rock and visit its lighthouse.

In the afternoon, take a walk on the island and stop for a coffee, then return to Panarea in the evening.

The night is free; Panarea’s waterfront restaurants and nightlife are lively and vibrant.

After breakfast, you lift anchor and head toward Vulcano Island.

The first stops are the Grotta del Cavallo (Horse Cave) and the natural lagoon known as the Pool of Venus.

In the afternoon, enjoy swimming at the Black Sands beach and experience the island’s famous thermal mud baths.

Toward the end of the day, you can hike up to the crater and take in an unforgettable sunset.

On the way back, you cruise by tender through the Faraglioni rock formations before returning to Lipari.

After a swimming break, you anchor in the early evening at Marina Corta, the island’s historic harbor.

After breakfast service on board, you may check out by 09:00 on Saturday morning.

Flights & Transfers

Airports

This blue cruise / yacht charter begins in Lipari or Milazzo. There are a few options for reaching these ports.

• Catania Fontanarossa (CTA) Airport: Approximately 140 km to Milazzo (2-hour road transfer)
• Palermo Falcone–Borsellino (PMO) Airport: Approximately 230 km to Milazzo (3 hours)
• Reggio Calabria (REG) Airport: Via Messina, including a short sea crossing, with a total travel time of about 2–3 hours

Ferry Links

• Milazzo → Lipari: Daily morning and evening departures are available. The crossing takes about 1 hour. Operators: Liberty Lines and Siremar.
• Naples → Lipari or Milazzo: Weekly ferry services are available (approximately 6–8 hours).
• Messina → Lipari: Limited seasonal services (about 2.5 hours).

Transfers

There are scheduled shuttle services and private transfers available from the airports to Milazzo Port.

Tip

Boarding usually begins at 18:00, so a flight arriving in Catania around midday would be ideal.

After landing, a transfer to Milazzo—and, if needed, a short sea crossing to Lipari—can be arranged.
